About this activity

Travel over the Sydney Harbour Bridge along the North Coast to the blue water paradise of Port Stephens. With crystal clear waters, Port Stephens boasts over 26 pristine beaches, National Parks and diverse marine life. At Nelson Bay we have free time for lunch (own expense) with plenty of venues and shops to wander and find what you like. It’s then onto a dolphin watch cruise to explore the bay and get up close to the bottlenose dolphins that live here all year round. Jump into the boom net for some aqua fun! Then off to a 30km long beach and the largest sand dunes in the southern hemisphere to take a 4WD over the dunes to sandboard don the huge slopes – lots of laughs and hard work walking back up! Walk along the beach and in the warmer months you can swim. Today is a coastal adventure for great memories and photos.

Fun in the dunes & whale wonder

Fantastic trip. Sand dunes and boarding were great. Saw loads of whales some dolphins a sea eagle and wild kangaroos on the journey back. Ronnie the driver/guide was superb

Incredible Day

My main reason for writing in is to say a massive thank you to our tour guide, Cheeks. He is hilarious, chats with everyone and is genuinely just such a joy to be around... even at 7am. He was amazing, give the man a raise. As for the trip, Port Stephens is beautiful. Sand boarding is an experience you'll never forget (mainly because, being English, you'll never have seen so much sand in your life). My advice for people thinking of going on this trip? Do it! And take a swimming costume and get in the boom net while on the dolphin boat cruise.
